The Technology Resource Center (TRC) is tasked to provide special livelihood assistance for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) displaced by the mass lay-offs of migrant workers worldwide as a result of the world financial crisis.
DDG Cunanan said TRC’s business packages for migrant workers are set to include hands-on training on setting-up various businesses. He added beneficiaries shall also be provided with initial tools and materials they will need to start their business. To further ensure their success, TRC shall also provide them with practical advices on product packaging. After the training, Cunanan said the beneficiaries shall also be provided with a business start-up mentoring assistance.
Individual OFWs who are interested in setting-up food service-related business could avail of trainings in meat processing, fish processing, chinese dimsum making, chocolates and candy making, flavored and fortified juice making, native kakanin and the like. Other trainings focus fashion accessories making, cologne making, trendy balloons, herbal soap making, hand-made paper, candle making, tour guide operations, fabric softener and hair care products.
Group packages are also available for training in the following course: Sorbetes Production, Fish Snack Products, Pasta and Noodles Making, Carinderia Operations and Affordable Bakery Products.
