Franchising is a method of business expansion whereby a franchisor (business owner or manager) allows a franchisee (person or entity) to market products or services under the franchisor’s name and trademark and in strict adherence to a system he prescribes. In return, the franchisee pays a fee and, usually, an ongoing royalty fee. Moreover, the franchisee pays all of the costs of getting into his or her own business.
