i have forwarded to you na the schedule of DOH seminars. hope youve catch up with the sched. anyway, i would just like to share my experience in knowing the schedule of training for water refilling station operators-the 40 hr training.
First I called up DOH main ofc in mandaluyong,i inquired it this way, hi, san po ako pede magtanong ng schedule ng training for water refilling station operators as required by DOH ung kino conduct sa Up manila na 40hr? ang sagot sakin sa telepono, ay mam, sa BFAD po ata yan di po samin… my god, kayo nag nagrerequire tapos sa BFAD kami mag inquire??? it made me called more than 20 times at pinasa pas lang nila ako hanggang tumawag na lang ko ng UP, at dun nasagot ang aking tanong kung kelan ang schedule.
It so sad to note na ang ahensyang incharge sating mga water refilling station ay lahat di alam ang tinutukoy ko kung sila me hawak o hindi….
yun lang po, natawa lang po ako sa nangyari….

Ilang mahalagang katanungan lang po:
Nararanasan nyo po bang mawalan ng mga galon (slim or round)?
O hindi po natin alam na nawawalan na pala tayo ng mga galon?
Dahil hirap tayo mag imbentaryo ng mga ito sa araw araw?
Kaya po ba buwan buwan tayong bumibili ng mga galon at hindi naman
lumalaki ang ating kita o nadaragdagan ang ating mga suki?
Paano natin alam kung nawawalan tayo ng tubig? kapag wala tayo sa ating water station, may bumili at hindi inilista ng mga naiwan? Di bale nalang ba sapagkat may tiwala naman tayo sa mga emplyado?
Habang abala tayo sa pagbabantay at pagmementina ng ating makina
ay nakalimutan na nating bantayan ang ating mga suki?
Paano natin malalaman na nakaligtaan na natin sila, kapag bumibili na
po ba sila sa iba?
Paano natin alam na ubos na ang tubig nila? kapag nagtext o tumawag na po ba? Paano kung hindi?
Paano natin alam kung magkano ang kinita ng ating water station sa isang araw, isang buwan, isang taon? At magkano ang gastusin natin sa isang araw, isang buwan, isang taon?
Paano natin alam kung sino ang pinakamalakas bumili sa atin o pinaka mahina? sino ang mga suki na dapat nating alagaan? Regaluhan? dahil kaarawan nya ngayon?
Inuubus ba natin ang ating oras sa paggawa ng mga ledger, mga papeles sa halip na mag-alok pa sa iba ng ating produkto?
Kelan na tayo pwede iwan sandali ang business para magbakasyon kasama ang pamilya? ………………..ng may tahimik na kalooban at kaisipan na pagbalik sa water station ay walang nawala at lahat ng dokumento ay maayos? ………………Na kahit anong oras ay maaring sabihin sa suki kung ilan ang galon na naipahiram sa kanya at ang kanya balanse?

kuha po kayo ng alambre masmahabang konti sa 5 gal. round,tapos lagyan nyo ng foam sa dulo taposyun poangpanglinis nyo sa loobng bottle,tapos sanitize nyo ulit yung bote ok na po ulit yun.

A friend of mine who is also engaged in water business,asked my help about membrane efficiency.
He used the Filmtec LE 4040 to a feed water that has a TDS of 900.As per test protocol, said membrane has the ff.data:
NACL – 2000 ppm
Production- 2500 GPD
Applied pressure- 150 psi
permeate flux- +/- 20%
recovery- 15%
efficiency- 99%
He told his client that once the membrane is used, product TDS will be 5 to 10 ppm.However when the membrane was installed,it yielded a product TDS of 25 ppm.
His client reacted and commented that there is something wrong with the membrane because it did not give the expected result.
The membrane was bought to a supplier here in Manila and when he discussed the issue,the supplier told him that maybe there is a problem with the system that is why it has a high product TDS.
As I have reiterated before,most of the times, we are dealing with the membranes blindly.
The test protocol of membranes will not confirm it’s general performance. Results obtained from the protocol were established on a certain test conditions,so it does not mean that if we use it here,we can obtain same results as that of the protocol.
As a general rule for membranes,we have to assume the 95% efficiency,so if raw TDS is 900,then product TDS will be 45.
Basing on the TDS results obtained w/c is 25 ppm,it is assumed that membrane is at more than 95% efficiency,97.22% efficiency to be exact.
So now,where is the problem? Actually there is no problem but we are the one’s creating our own problem,to assume that LE membrane will perform 99% efficiency as per test protocol without considering the test conditions will be a no!! no!!.
LE was able to achieve the 99% efficiency because recovery is just 15%,so that means, 85% is reject water,now in our application, where in we usually apply 40% recovery and 60% reject,do you think we can have the same results?
15/85 ratio would require a higher feed water volume than 40/60 ratio based on the same production volume in a given day.
One of the principles of reverse osmosis is, “the higher the concentrate flow (reject) the higher the salt rejection(efficiency)”.
Just a basic tip,the next time you sell the membrane,consider this concept and you will not be having problems with your clients.
FUNCTION OF UV (Ultraviolet) STERILIZATION UNIT
In the UV Sterilization unit, ultra violet light of wavelength 253.7 nm is irradiated by mercury lamp to eliminate the bacteria in the water. This treatment system generally employs a water flow type of UV sterilization unit. The basic structure is stainless steel casing with mirror finish, a sterilizing lamp, and outer accessories. UV sterilization is superior to chemical sterilization because it does not alter the water quality and it is simpler.
The sterilizing effect of ultraviolet light can be expressed as the product of the irradiation time and the irradiation intensity under the same conditions. It is usually expressed as the irradiation intensity (µW/cm-2 ) x irradiation time (s) = ultraviolet irradiation volume (µW/s. cm-2 ).
This treatment system applies ultraviolet irradiation at 50,000-100,000 (µW/s. cm-2). With this volume of irradiation, 99.9% of the bacteria in the water can be eliminated. More irradiation is required to eliminate the same percentages of some kinds of mold.
During continuous operation, the sterilizing lamp deteriorates with time: in 7000-8000 h the output is reduced to 65-70% of normal. To maintain a stable sterilizing effect, the lamp should be replaced regularly.
