I have 3 water refilling stations, and operating for almost 6 years. I’ve experienced several breakdowns, that came to a point na i almost gave up. What i did was i study the whole thing (technical), after many months of practicing, ngayon ako nalang tech sa mga WRS ko. Simple lang naman as long as alam mo ang flow and the basics and a big plus ang mga seminars talaga.
Here are the common problems ng water refilling station ko at first few years of operation and maybe the reasons why maraming nagsasara na water refilling stations:
1. Containers and customers tracking
2. Lack of additional capital
-to be able to survive in this business kelangan mo sapat na funds to survive, like meron mga establishments na gusto sau kukuha ng water but need nila ng water dispensers at hindi lang isa, some wants to have 2 to 3 water dispensers, to get that kind of customers you should be able to provide what they want, in return you get additional clients and augment your sales.
-a piece of advise, make sure may quota if they want to borrow a water dispenser, yun ang ginagawa ko, trust me it works for me.
3. Cleanliness and sanitation
-this are reasons on some WRS na nagsasara sa area ko, nawawala mga customers because of this, some matagal magpalit ng filters kaya nag iba lasa ng tubig. You have bare in mind the water and product, customers are very sensitive when it comes to water.

-in my area,meron price war, sulutan, my solution for it is additional capital for hot and cold water dispensers, sabay sa price ng nakakarami, this way i was able to get big establisments like hospitals, banks, industrial establishments, and even Pag Ibig Fund in my area ako ang nagsusuply.
6. equipment problems
-this is very common specially sa WRS na matatagal na, parang sasakyan lang din ang mga machines natin, d natin alam kelan tau ititirik. Once tumirik at hindi mo alam ang technical matters, you will wait for the technician to come, by the time maayos na ang machine mo, you loss a very big sales on that day at possible masulot na ng iba ang mga customers mo.

i agree with you sir! i’m also an owner for 9 yrs & 6 months. i even had a corporate client that has 24 and 17 dispensers respectively. but they consume 800 and 1000 containers monthly and they’re my clients since 2006. inside my station, i use an organic sanitizer to sanitize counter tops and faucets. then on the outside part, i use lysol. as for my staff, we usually teach them how to be courteous, well mannered and presentable store and delivery crew. for the equipment, we usually replace the sediment filter monthly since we’re using deep well water as a our source. then the cbc filter every 2 months. better to spend for the filters rather than to sacrifice the quality of the product.

how about the first 30 minutes of production? do i have to drain the product tank? that’s what i’ve been hearing that i need to drain the product tank after the first 30 minutes of producing product water. is that true?

I just need some technical informations or advise regarding the maintenance of WRS as I am just 1 year in operating a 3000GPD WRS but have encountered lots of breakdown already. Can anyone of you guys give advise if what are the indications that the Multimedia needs to be reloaded? Would it not be possible to clean it instead of reloading it with new materials as suggested by my service provider? Can anyone of you give me the detailed content of the Sediment, Carbon, and Softener of the Multimedia? Ang lakilaki na ang gastos sa puro repair kaya interesado na ako na matuto sa technical operation ng water station kaya ako nakarating sa forum na ito. Kaya I thank you for any information or advice.

First of all,you have to ask the technical assistance of the company or person that installed your system.
Kung cannot be found,then you should have to deal with ‘real technician’ and not the ‘feeling technician’ kasi huhulaan lng nila ang problema ng makina mo at pagpapraktisan kaya nga, right now you are experiencing that PROBLEM.
Sad to say,you are one of the casualties of the current trend ng repairs and maintenance sa water industry.

First of all, ano po ba ang nagiging problema (breakdown) ng system nyo? Kung sa multimedia po, baka naman po hindi naba-backwash ng maigi.
ok ito. Ako ang malaking problema ko ay ang mga nabubutas na containers. Dito sa area namen 14 kami na mga WRS. Madalas kami nakakakuha ng mga butas na containers especially sa mga dealer stores namen.
Good day. I have wrs with 2 r.o membrane and using 330 procon. Ang tanong, kaya pa kaya ng procon ko kung magdadagdag pa ako ng 1 membrane? Kinakapos kase ako sa product at napupuyat ako para lang magpuno ng product sa tank.

installing a new membrane is just like the way you removed it, but a bit harder.first you have to lubricate both end tube of the membrane with petroleum jelly or any lubricant thats food grade,so it wont take you too much effort to push it, coz the end point has to fit in the slot of the ro vessel.then cover back with the RO vessel end cap.

how do i install a new membrane? is it as simple as – remove the old one and insert the new membrane? then drain the product tank for the first 30 minutes of production? i’ll be installing a new filmtec xle 4040. thanks for your help.

I am new to the business but I read, study, , talk to water station owners, interview delivery boys, join the refilling process, join water associations, attend to series of water processing seminar, water quality seminar, read blogs, read forums, handson operation, maintenance and repair, analyze, evaluate, assess, research and research and research then PRAY, PRAY, and PRAY. till Ive learn from technical, financial, operations and management….huuuuuu ang haba
Now I have two water refilling station i was able to build in a year time. Next year with GODS WILL i am planning to put up another one. Of course I also have a software system that guards my water stations. Because I am also a Government employee working 8am-5pm.
