The Hydroponics Technology

April 26, 2009 by Leo   6,378 Views

Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without soil. The plants thrive on the nutrient solution alone. The medium merely acts as support for the plants and their root systems, and perhaps to hold moisture around the roots. The growing medium, if any, is totally inert. Plants grown using this method produce fruits and flowers with clearer, purer, more transparent scents.

No soil means no weeds or soil borne pests and disease. Plants will maintain optimum nutrient and moisture levels in hydroponics systems, which has several benefits: healthier plants, faster growing plants and plants that will be more disease resistant as they are not stressed by drought.

Hi guys, i am hydroponic farmer in australia. I was recently in the Philippines.
Do much research before you attempt any hydroponic farm. Trust me. There are heaps of free information sources on the web to learn. Start small first!! Try before you buy!!! Hydro is great when the right conditions and crops but there are problems.Focus on fancy small lettuce and tomatoes, they have markets at large hotels. Strawberries more difficult in hydro, but great results if the right variety.
learn about the history of Hydroponics, there are many low-tech techniqques to grow hydroponics, wick system etc, before attempting high tech electronic management systems and greenhouses. Just remember, use your brains, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it!!! Love the Philippines.

raymond, ako yung bumili ng snap solution sa may robinson’s marikina last June 2009. ginamit ko yun to grow mesclun salad. tumubo naman at nakapagharvest kami ng at least 200 plants of assorted variety–tatsoi, red russian kale, and arugula. I had two liters which was good for one growing cycle of that volume. how much is the total cost if I need 5 liters of each solution and shipped to Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
