Projected annual duckweed production – 15,000 kilos.
Production cost per kilo duckweeds – 75 centavos -per kilo fresh duckweeds
15,000 kilos duckweeds is enough to supply partial feed requirement of 3 hectares fishpond under semi-intensive culture management (5 pes fingerings per square meter).
b) 1,000 square meter fishpond project* using duckweeds as alternative feed

Income Estimate
- Projected production (80% survival rate): 666.67 kgs @ P75/kg.

1. Paghahanda ng paiaisdaan
- d. Alisin ang iba pang dumi at sobrang putik.
- Temperature: 29.8° – 30.2° C
- pH: 7.15 – 7.45
- Dissolved Oxygen (DO), mg/L: 0.62 – 1.83
- Total Hardness, mg/L: 107.5 – 130.0

[...] As far as feed goes it all depends on the fish you are using. I have tilapia in my system. Tilapia are a wonderful choice in tropical climates as they are extremely forgiving as far as water quality is concerned and they are not picky eaters. They are vegetarians and will consume leafy scraps from the garden as well as water hyacinth, water lettuce and duckweed. [...]
I’m so glad you’re making this information available. To the best of my knowledge, duckweed is mostly considered a nuisance here in the United States. Its value has not been fully explored. There are those who do appreciate it though. Here is a link to an article demonstrating that duckweed is appreciated by some people who raise koi for fun.
