Hi everyone. This is a very informative website. I’m into crab farming for almost a year now at a one-hectare fishpond here in Bulacan. So far the survival rate of my farmed crabs is high. I’m interested in crab fattening in bamboo cages so that I can sell my harvested crabs at a higher price. My concern is, should the cages be floating, suspended or at the bottom of the fishpond. I have read many articles about it on the internet but I can’t find a photo of the cage laid out in the pond which I can use as an example. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Salamat.

There is a Crab seminar on Saturday, Feb23, starts at 9am, at AANI Herbal Garden and Livelihood Center, Quezon Memorial Circle, East Ave Gate.

No need to preregister. Am not sure if it is FREE, but surely it will not be expensive.

Talk will be given by Pol Rubia.

hi iam very new to the raising crab business and have been advised to buy small crabs (about 27 per kilo) and would appreciate any and all information concerning raising the smaller crabs, ive been hearing alot of peoples oppinions but it seems there are many differences even as to how much to feed the baby crabs, when the amount of crabs and the weight of them are known.
My wife and i are just starting out we have the use of a pond which is 40 X 50 meters, we have got the gates working for assurance of good circulatiion of the tides as well as a fence around the whole pond to keep the wondering crabs inside the pond. also we have hired caretakers to watch over the pond at night which is located right on the edeg of the pond to keep an eye on things. as well as feed the crabs, but iam concerned about how much and how often to feed them as like i say so many differences of oppinions.
thank you so much for any information you can give me concerning these issues
   sincerely

Hi Jay,

Weird to have chanced upon you again this time in entrepinoy. Am really curious about your method of growing crabs. Do you provide seminars as well? Have a pond in Bataan which I cant get to visit as often as I want thats why Im looking for other means of culturing mud crabs. Would really want to try it out in my own backyard if that is what your method teaches.

Anyway, I really hope you could give me more info through my email.

Looking forward to it.

kind regards,
Jojo

Hello,

My name is JJ Lizarondo, if you are interested in me providing you 50,000 Crablets of green or Red King Crab, Pls let me know. We also have an organic Formula to hasten speed of growth of crabs without any side effects. We have a formula for crabs that will drastically change the way you grow crabs. In exchange we will even buy back the 70-80% of the already crabs, during harvest.

I often went to Panguil Bay on weekends when I was teaching in Iligan. Mud crabs were weighed first to classify them into different prices. BFAR has an office there too.
