The following illustrations are designed to guide the reader through the construction of a small plywood and glass incubator that will accommodate about 100 chicken eggs. Basic woodworking tools are required required for construction. Gather all equipment and supplies listed below together before starting construction. The diagrams shown will guide the construction of the unit.
Bill of Materials:
- 1pc - 1/2″x4′x6′ A-C Exterior Plywood
- 5pcs - 3/8″x3/4″x8′ Pine
- 1pc - 3/4″x1½”x13′ Pine
- 1pc - 3/4″x3¼”x4′ Pine
- 1pc - 1/2″x3/4″x8′ Pine
- 1pc - 1/2″x18″x27″ rigid insulation board
- 1pc - 18″x27″ heavy duty aluminum foil
- 1pc - 1/2″x30″ semi-rigid plastic pipe
- 4pcs - 10″x20″ single strength window glass
- 4pcs - 10″x14″ single strength window glass
- 2 - 1½” round-wooden drawer pulls
- 2 - metal drawer pulls (cup type)
- 2 - 2″ hooks with eyes
- 1pc - 8′ felt weatherstripping 1/4″x1/2″
- 1pc - 20″x27″ - ¼” hardware cloth
- 2 - vent covers - sheet metal
- 1 - incubator electrification kit *
- 1 - attachment plug
- 2 - No. 18-2 flexible service cord
- 1 - duplex outlet for surface mounting
- 10 - small porcelain knobs for heating element
- 1pr - 4″x1″ flat hinges
- 1 - water pan - minimum 360 sq. in.
- 1pc - 1/8″x16½’ steel rod
- 1pc - 3/16″x8′ steel rod
- Assorted nails and screws
- Waterproof wood glue
*electrification kit composed of wafer thermostat with duplex outlet, pilot light, service cord, and 160-watt flexible glass-covered heating element.

hi this is segun from nigeria i got to knw about this website not quite long pls i would like you to send me more details on the construction of the plywood incubator and also i use to have o notion that it takes just few hours for an incubator to hatch eggs pls i need more explanation on this. looking foward to hearing from u .

rody gomez, you can go to the aluminum van makes and say you want a chick van made for your truck bed, that is if you do not have an aluminum van yet.
Or, if your tuck has an existing aluminum van, you can add louvers for ventilation and blowers. Very simple to do.
