The SASSO is an kind of colored chicken noted for its very fast growth due to crossbreeding between imported and native chickens. However, it uses only natural or organic feed. The SASSO reaches and average weight of one and a half (1.5) kilo within only sixtyfive (65) days.
The studies conducted in the province of Bohol by the KNP, it was found out that there is a strong demand for SASSO chicken equivalent to 40%, but there is only 10% rise in the supply or production. This means that the supply is too low, even the existing SASSO poultry farms in the towns cannot meet the demand for local consumption. The big department stores in Tagbilaran City and in other places are very much in need of this kind of chicken. This indicates that the project is feasible and profitable.

I represent a new agricultural school on the hills of Legazpi, Albay province.
I am very much interested on some of your videos. But I do not how how to access to them. Please assist me in securing some videos in agriculture (animal, crops and horticulture) and related.

good morning,
I am planning to put up a sasso layer farm here in masbate. I wonder if you can send day old female chicks to legazpi airport. I am thinking of table egg production from sasso. I would like to test the waters for sasso eggs if there’s a niche market for them. Also need your advice for the matter. I need 100 chicks for a start. How much will it cost me? please reply via my email. Thanks
Hey, Louis Parolin. where is that new agric school located? Im from Legazpi also.
November 4th, 2007 at 7:48 am
Louis PAROLIN,
We give free seminars often, if you’d be interested to come to Manila or send a representative.
Every 4th Sunday of the month, the Agri Kapihan at the courtyard of DWWW 774 (AM radio station) might interest you.
The AANI group features us often too for free seminars.
oscar j. rejuso,
Yes we are able to send by air, day old chicks to Masbate. They are boxed at random, straight run from the hatchery. We do not select females from males as they are predominantly raised for meat. They are dual type of chicken, so you may slaughter the males for meat, and keep the females as layers.
If you wanted to start with 100 layers, I suggest get 200 of the day old chicks. Chances are, you may end up with 100 females.
You wanted me to reply by email but I can’t find the link here.
Pls visit http://solraya.blogspot.com for more details on seminars and availability of stocks.
Thank you to both of you :)
November 4th, 2007 at 8:52 am
thanks for the prompt reply. and sorry i forgot to include my email add: remico2@yahoo.com. Please advise on price, availability and mode and schedule of payment , considering i am from the bicol region.
November 4th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
“Prices and availability” are posted in the our blog (located on the left side of the page). Day old chicks, php38 (PHP3800 per box of 100) are available for shipping every Sunday, and will be available 2x week soon.
You can remit thru our BPI account. Pls book 1 week before since sending to Bicol may require airfreight. Are you near an airport?
November 4th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Hi. I am just 5 mins. drive away from Legazpi Airport.
What about the airfreight? Will i remit payment inclusive of airfare or have to pay freight at the airport?
November 4th, 2007 at 8:15 pm
Yes, freight part of remittance. We pay for it when brought to airport.
You can just email me at info@solraya.com
Thank you.

November 20th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
hi, do you already have a distributor here in bukidnon or cagayan de oro?
November 21st, 2007 at 10:59 am
Fritz,
We don’t have a distributor for our Sunshine day old chicks there at the moment. Did you wish to order? We can ship to you directly.
Guilbert,
You can go to the nearest feed mill in your area and inquire about mixing unmedicated feeds for you.
There is a brand in the market, FEEDPRO. They say they are unmedicated.

Hello! I am interested in sasso raising. Where can I buy sasso hens? How much does one hen cost? I am from Old Albay , Legazpi City.
My family is planning to raise quality native chicken and eventually, have this as our business here in Legazpi.
Mabalos po!!

Hi Rene:
If you plan on raising quality Filipino native chickens, then I suggest source out the strain in your area and build your stocks from there. Ask the local DA office for assistance.
The French breeds are like our natives, in the sense that they are free ranging, grass fed and taste the same if not better (to my liking because they are not tough).
Thing is, you can’t be breeding quality Filipino native chickens using imported strains. They will be what is termed as “upgraded”, in terms if growth rate.
December 11th, 2007 at 9:52 am
good day sir,
I just want to know if you have any articles about native chiken from ilioilo, i think they call it darag.
thanks
December 11th, 2007 at 10:50 am
@joy, in-fact there is. here’s the link: http://www.mixph.com/2007/02/d.....icken.html

we want to start a new business focusing in raising a native chicken in order to market it in an exact age…. can u give me an idea how much or how big is the cage of chicken or the occupancy of each chick in order to raise them well..
January 9th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
Hi. I have a 2000 sqm property in Alfonso Cavite which I like to develop as a farm. Where can I get in touch with you directly. Can I visit your farm so I would have more or less a good idea? I am based here in Manila. Thank you.
January 10th, 2008 at 7:52 am
marites,
About 1sq ft for shelter, but remember, they will be ranging. So the space I mentioned is only for the shelter they go home to.
Arnel Sison,
Saturdays and Sundays, we are at AANI FTI Weekend Market or at AANI Herbal Garden and Livelihood Center at Quezon Memorial Circle.
Pls visit our website for basic info on raising our free range chickens.

I’m planning to put up my own small sasso laying farm here in Pampanga.
Please advise.
.
January 22nd, 2008 at 2:36 pm
ano price per chick? stable ba price nito or naglalaro din like ng mga pang broiler? kasi before di ba imported yan(as far as i know)..like now meron na daw island breed.and ano pagkaka iba ng sasso and kabir? tnx..a lot
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Wilson, We hatch every Friday.
Paul of bulacan, stable ang price nya at php38.
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:29 pm
ano talaga ang tawag sa breed ng mga chicken na to? organic? and maganda ba ang market ngayon nito..tnx again
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:44 pm
We branded it as Sunshine.
We will not use the term organic. Unless you are sure of the source of your corn, soya etc, you can not be sure na pesticide free. Possible but improbable sa panahon ngayon. Unmedicated…free ranged…better terms.
Market? Yes, but just like any businessman, you have to create the need and market for a niche.
January 22nd, 2008 at 5:17 pm
actually neighbor ko c tj..parang nagka interest ako nung makita ko alaga nya and talaga namang hinihikayat nya ko,mukha ngang mababa costing ng pagpapalaki ang hindi daw maselan ang ganyan breed,so gusto ko talaga i-try kahit mga 100hds lng.business ko is broiler,3000 heads alaga ko.
January 22nd, 2008 at 5:32 pm
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:02 pm
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:03 pm
January 23rd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
January 24th, 2008 at 8:26 am
philbert,
salamat
January 24th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

January 25th, 2008 at 1:04 pm

January 25th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
ramil, jeddah ksa and thomas sese:

January 29th, 2008 at 3:18 am
January 29th, 2008 at 7:54 am
DCS Trading in Rosales Pangasinan, sa harap ng municipal hall. You can’t miss the area, malaki sila.
February 15th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
February 15th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
we use either probiotics w/ vitamins or pure vitamins.
February 16th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
The video interests me too. I’m from Cebu. Do you have a supplier here?
February 17th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
cristy, we can ship to you directly, or you may ask Pacifica Agrivet to get Sunshines for you.
February 19th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
February 19th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
pareng buboy bakit mo p ibebenta pwede nmng bumuli k ng maliit n incubator magparami k n lang mas magndang ibenta ito lalo n mlapit n ang graduation(march) o may(fiesta) suggestion lang pre thnks
February 19th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
pre ang alam ko, ang mga itlog ng mga yan ay d fertile kc d cla galing sa parent stock, am not sure, solraya any comment?
February 19th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
February 20th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
February 20th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
March 1st, 2008 at 2:52 am

March 21st, 2008 at 8:32 pm
As for our outlet, we are along Quirino hway
March 31st, 2008 at 11:19 am
Carling from Pres. Quirino sultan Kudarat, ask ko lang if mayroon kayo dealer ng sunshine chicken dito sa Cotabato city or Tacurong City? thank you

You are welcome to visit the Center and see the youth at work.
Now the trainees started their OJT in companies and specialized farms: poultry, piggery, highvalue crops, others. On June we start training the eigth batch of trainees. Greetings.
