A desert or snack, candied camias is an excellent substitute for imported prunes. A 100-gram pack of candied camias sells at P3.00 (wholesale) and P3.50 to P 4.00 (retail). Usually, small- time producers sell their products to wholesalers and large retailers such as groceries and supermarkets. Candied camias are sold on cash or on a consignment basis.

The country is now exporting candied fruits to 23 countries. But at present, there is minimal production of candied camias even among local consumers. Updated info here

    Hey.. may i know how to preserve the pulp and juice of kamias?… and is it reliable to use pure kamias juice(extracted by machine) for wine productions.. and is it also reliable if u use extracted kamias for jam and candy?.. thx hope u reply. i need it badly..

      this is what we call camiasade…
      All you need to do is place camias in a blender and drain the pulp.
      can mix with syrup right directly to a glass with water and ice cubes…

    hmmm… disadvantage is that only few trees are available here in our country and second if the instructions for making camdied camias are not followed properly, some microorganisms such as yeast and molds may contaminate your product.
