Various Tips in Raising Broiler Chickens

Simpler Way to Find Out Feed Deficiency
Experts suggested an easy way of finding out whether the chickens are being fed correctly. This is by looking at the floor of the pen to find out whether there are too many or too little feathers scattered around, or looking at the chickens to see whether some of them are already bald due to pecking by the other chickens. The underlying principle is, that the chickens will eat their feathers to get the protein they need. The chickens feathers and their fellow chickens skins are good sources of protein.
Tips showing when chickens are supplied with more protein are: when the chickens are bald, when chickens are suffering from wounds inflicted by other chickens that peck on them and when less feathers are scattered around. These techniques could easily be adapted to large scale commercial operations where collection of accurate weight and conversion data would not be possible.
Give Broilers Banana Leaf Meal
According to a study conducted at Southern Mindanao Agricultural Research (Kabacan, North Cotabato) broilers fed with a ration containing five percent banana leaf meal (BLM) registered the highest average weight gain of 1.462 kilos, followed by those given a ration with 10 percent BLM at 1.373 kilos. On the other hand, those given commercial starter mash ration gained an average of 1.289 kilos.
Herbal Plants for Chicken Worms
Chickens maybe infested with roundworms which are indicated by slow growing process. Even the layers can also be infested by roundworms. It was found by researchers that papaya sap can be given as a drink but it was difficult for poultry raisers to give each chicken when there are so many. Researchers from UPLB tried using finely chopped papaya leaves combined with the feeds for 3 days. Results showed that the worm infestation were controlled and destroyed. Also, powdered tobacco leaves which were dried under the sun may also be used. Powdered tobacco leaves (2 parts) mixed with 12 parts feed mash and sodium sulfate is a salt solution for discharging chicken roundworms when given for 3 days.

Naalala ko yung friend namin na nag 4 good 2 yrs ago, napilitang bumalik ng saudi kasi yung perang nakuha nya sa company after 10 yrs of working here ay nalugi sa poultry.
Yung unang 2 beses na harvest(yun nga ba tawag dun?)ay okey kaya lang noong magkaroon ng issue sa bird flu ay affected sila kaya bumaba ang chicken sa market, as in nalugi sila. Kaya ngayon OFW sya ulit.

On the other hand, charge palagi to experience and next time around calculated mo na ang risks based on personal experience. Very rare yung nagsa succeed on a single try. Tama ka, kelangan din ang konting swerte. :)

Hi eu-leh,
Thank you so much sa mga efforts mo with your posts para matulungan ang kapwa-pinoy na makapag-startup ng kani-kaniyang business; dapat ikaw ang gawan ng rebulto sa Baywalk at hindi si Pacquiao. :p
Can you help me please? Thank you very much in advance. :)
You may email me at blabberhand@gmail.com.
Mabuhay ka! :)
