The compendium of 2003 HRD and Entrepreneurship Training Programs for SMEs being offered by government training institutions is done in support of the National SME Development Agenda, a priority program of the government. The Department of Trade and Industry is the lead government agency tasked to implement the Agenda and provide SMEs with seamless access to government agencies. HRD and Entrepreneurship Training is one of five core elements of the Agenda including financing, marketing, product development and technological intervention, and advocacy for an enabling environment.

Objectives:

The training and entrepreneurship development programs of the National SME Agenda seek to provide existing and potential entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to become competitive players in the local or global market. It also seeks to create a pool of SME trainers, advisors and counselors who can effectively assist SMEs nationwide.

    The Camalig Bank Foundation, Inc (CBFI) was created to foster a non-profit foundation, which shall initiate, promote, develop, support, finance, administer, operate and/or maintain programs or projects for capacity building in the areas of Financial Literacy and Disaster Preparedness for the promotion of social awareness. These among other things are the vision that CBFI would like to achieve.

    The Foundation is relatively new and with its one year in service, we have so far catered the Educational Stewardship of the institution toward the people. Currently we have implemented the sponsorship program thru scholarship. We have twenty-five (25) scholars, to wit: Albay- 10; Catanduanes โ€“ 10 and Sorsogon โ€“ 5.

    The Foundation is currently assisting the Alternative Learning Program of DepEd for out-of-school youth here in Camalig, Albay and as part of the initiative of the Foundation; we are promoting to the Learners the wisdom of Entrepreneurship as part of the solution for poverty alleviation. We plan to conduct seminars and workshops to reach this goal.
