The following laundry business tips and advice were lifted from entrepreneur.com.ph discussion board posted by forum members. Most advice came from business owner themselves who have their own laundry operation.
Question:
I’m interested in putting up a laundry business here in our place (im living in the province).
I have some initial questions:
- How much is the initial/basic price per kilo for laundry? Comforter and other bigger items such as jackets, curtains, and bed sheets have different prices?
- Is it ok to use commercial soap, like the one being sold in bulk since its way cheaper?
- Do we have to use fabric softener or laundry soap will do?
- If there is a need to use fabric conditioner, is there an additional charge for it?
Hope for your replies and thanks in advance. – florenz
Answers:
- For province, you can start your price at 25 per kilo. for jackets, charge it by pc at P100 depending on the fabric, if its denim mas mahal. Comforters, bedsheets, curtains, etc are priced at 55-60 per kilo.
- Use commercial detergent coz its really cheaper compared to branded one. Better yet, make your own..there are lots of seminars that teach you how to make detergent and softeners.
- You have to use fabric softener for your laundry, coz they expect you to do that.
- You don’t charge extra for using fabric softener, that should be included in your service.
hope that answered your questions. – etten
I assume you have a big space for your laundry shop, better if you have a space where you can hang dry your laundries, that way you can also minimize use of your dryer, makakatipid ka din sa gas/lpg consumption mo.
I would still suggest a brand new units para less maintenance mo.
– from different posters

I started a laundry business a week ago, ang na experience ko po nasisiraan kami ng damit ano po kaya ng ang nagiging cause bakit nabubugbog un damit eh ang setting ko naman is either delicate lang or hand wash ,pls help.
if itsnot the setting of your machine then its probably the chemical you’re using. commercial detergents are very different from household detergents, so make sure you’re using the required amount for your chemicals.

thank you! You may get in touch with me at 09216734291
i have a laundry shop and i attended a seminar about it prior to my opening. the speakers are actually suppliers of detergents so its like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. you should definitely hire someone but not necessarily someone with experience. however, you should be knowledgeable the ins and outs of the business, like how to perate the machines, quantity of detergents and softeners and other chemicals in relation to the weight and type of the fabric/cloth. so the seminar is really a must.
hi! if u want to have a laundry biznez and waterstation beside it…. i’m inviting u for a free orientation on how to open a waterstation, capital needed and r.o.i…for inquiry my direct line no. is 701-4883 or 0916-4460300 just look for ms. joy from Living Water. Have a glass of Success!
hi ms. jewel! me and my hubby to put up a business but we’re not yet decided if we should put up a water refilling or laundry shop?which business do you think will be profitable in a mid-class subdivision?
Agnes,
I agree with Taga-ilog. You have to check their books, utility bills, rent and salaries before making a decision. Mahirap bawiin yun cost nung laundry shop kapag di naman totoo yun figures. I once talked to a shop owner who boasted of huge income but when i kept asking for the books, she admitted that things has slowed down and the income is not that big anymore.
Basta do your own computation.
@Agnes. Maraming istoryang too good to be true. Madaling magimbento ng numero. Think twice or thrice bago mo bilhin yung shop niya.
hi!!!im planning to buy a laundry business of my friend.3dryer & 3 washer she sell it 250thou but the machine is very old,but the good news is they have exsisting clients and their sales in 1 month is 80thou to 100 thou and the gross income is around 20-30thou….Is it advisable for me that has no experince in laundry to buy her laundry shop????plz help im planning to buy this end of march
if you mean the monthly gross income is around 80thou to 100thou and the net income will be only around 20-30thou, that’s way too low :( if that is true, a laundry business is not that good. i would go for a waterstation business instead if that’s the case. what do you think guys?
Hi! I really need advise. My husband and I are planning to put up a laundry business in the province but I don’t know how to start it. Do I need to attend a seminar? If so, can u suggest where can i attend a seminar that has a lower registration fee and located near sampaloc? Thanks in advance.
