		<description>Hi,

I am looking at investing in coconut trees and intercropping with high value fruits and short term crops like Banana, Mangosteen, Lanzones, Rambutan, Durian, and now Jatropha Curcas which I read is a source of a bio-diesel.
I understand Makapuno trees are now underplanted and command great price at 30 pesos per nut, is this still the case? Are the seedlings still commanding 500 peso a piece? But as the makapuno varieties can only fruit in 3 years time, are they the most viable option?

I am also very interested in your comments regarding the growing of Sweet Water Coconuts for the Fresh Buko local and even the foreign Market. You go on to write... A hectare can generate a monthly income of say P30,000 from 150 trees/hectare @ 10 nuts/tree/bunch/month @ P20/pc or the Coconut Sugar?

There is a variety of coconut that gives 4 liters of tuba (toddy) per day so if you have 150 trees, this is 600 liters with 4 liters to produce, when cooked 1 kilo of natural coco sugar and sold at P100.00/kilo is P15,000/day.

This excludes the sales from the seednuts since a bunch would yield 15-18 nuts. just getting 5 nuts/tree/month x 150 trees = 750 nuts/month x 12 months = 9,000 nuts sold at P150.00/nut is P1.350M per year or just say P1.0 Million

Yes.. very interested.

Any information you can assist with would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Regards

		<description>Sir/Madam,

I have been growing durina for 15 years already and still could not find fool proof solution for the control of Pythopthora - a soil born fungus that attacks the root and/or vascular system of the tree. This is very discouraging as the fruiting trees eventually dies-off. The disease strikes at any stage, young, old, mature and fruiting so any suggestions?

Secondly, why not consider on growing Sweet Water Coconuts for the Fresh Buko local and even the foreign Market? A hectare can generate a monthly income of say P30,000 from 150 trees/hectare @ 10 nuts/tree/bunch/month @ P20/pc or the Coconut Sugar?

If anyone is interested, just email me ASAP.
