I am Nelson from Cebu planning to venture in mango in Bohol specifically in Getafe bohol, i aquired already an area of 1.5 hectares, i need your help guys since i am a biginners of this business.what will be the best start? where to find good seedlings? Need your help
Best Regards
Nelson
Hi Nelson,
Please do contact me at reyQ1954@yahoo.com as i have better alternatives for you aside from growing mangoes. We have 1,200 bearing mango trees in our farm in Sayao, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur but we are having a difficult time making money from it.
The best alternative for you is to go for the Thailand Sweetwater Coconut for the fresh buko market especially the resorts in Bohol. This variety is a dwarf early bearing tree with sweet coconut water with thin meat. If we plant at 10m x 10m per hectare, this will give you 100 hills at 3 seedlings per hill for a total of 300 trees. At 34th month some trees would already start to bear fruits but lets say full bearing by the start of the 49th month.
Conservatively, let’s assume a harvest of 10 nuts/tree/month and every month thereafter – although a bunch can yield from 15-22 nuts/bunch. At 10 nuts for the 300 trees is 3,000 nuts/month/hectare @ P30.00/nut is P90,000 per month. Please check our website at http://www.sayaofarms.com for your perusal and appreciation. My best regards, ReyQ
