- 25sq meters of space
- Good source of water. Total Dissolved Solids must be below 500ppm. Meron ako tester na ginagamit to know ang TDS ng tubig. Above this TDS (500ppm) baka the quality ng product ay maapektuhan.
D. Papers required for acquiring the License for your WRS

- Barangay permit
- Mayor’s permit
- Sanitary permit from Municipality or DOH
E. Suggestions:
E1. Location
- You do not need to rent spacious place at along highway or road dahil tataas lang ang operating cost mo. If you have 25sqmeter sa bahay mo that will be enough. Or if you will rent naman siguro maximum take a place that would cost from 5000 to 10,000 maximum at dapat meron agreement for 5 years at least.
- If you are inside a well populated subdivision, very good because from the subdivision itsel you can easily earn 2 to 4k sales per day. At matipid pa sa gasolina.
- You do not need to be along the highway dahil 90percent of your sales will be home delivery.
E2: Equipments.
- Actually you are saving if you will get higher capacity of Reverse Osmosis purification unit. You need to run the system half of the time(12hrs. Only) to produce 1000 gallons. Anyway, yung equipments naman ay madali i-upgrade.
- If you can afford, get the fully automatic system. Wala ka ng babantayan na mapupuno or aapaw sa tanke. Just switch it on at it will automatically start and stop when empty at full na ang mga tangke.
E3: Delivery
You should have an idea kung saan ang maging market mo. Kung subdivision lang..motorcycle na lang ang biling mo dahil it can carry 25 bottles din at matipid sa gasolina. In our case P500 full tank every 8-10days. Noong jeep ang gamit namin it is P100 per day. Some uses padyak lang. Kung posible sa lugar niyo why not.
Contract : others will have a contract with motorcycle drivers P5 per gallon commission para ideliver ang tubig.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, all of the above considerations of why flow rate is low even after installation is right, but I would just like to add that its not only the design that matters, why membrane flow rate is low, because reverse osmosis system is very basic design and easily copied. One of the reasons also is the membrane capacity. Almost everybody is selling the membrane or systems with the tag “3000 GPD”, but is it really real 3000 GPD?
Normally, membrane of different brands has different production capacity, nominal salt rejection, permeate flow, NaCl solution tested condition, operating pressure or simply the technical specification of the membrane that is being purchased.
Say for example, FILMTEC LE 4040 is 2500 GPD with 99% nominal Salt Rejection and 2000 ppm Nacl Soln , ESPA 4 is 2500 GPD – 99% salt rejection and 500 ppm NaCl Soln, ESPA 1 is 2600 GPD -99.3% and 1500 ppm NaCl Soln, ESPA 3 is 3000GPD 98.5% nominal salt rejection at 1500 ppm NaCl Soln.
They have different production level, but the most important matter is the quality of source water that the customer has. Sometimes, even if the customer wants the higher flow rate but their quality of water is not applicable for the membrane, that’s why lower flow rate membrane is installed, but can withstand the quality of source water based on the result of Physico Chemical Analysis.
Then, it is really a must to check the water sample first before offering the system to ensure it will work properly.

Low Production of Membrane after installation is due to lack of consideration to the design.Water Station Owner’s always blamed the technicians, but the person responsible for this low production is the designer.

Below are the factors that can affect the capacity of your membrane,
1)Effect of pressure affects both the water flux and salt rejection of RO membranes.
2)Effect of temperature-the productivity of membrane is sensitive in changes of feed water temperature. Increased feedwater temperature also results in lower salt rejection or higher salt passage. This is due to a higher diffusion rate for salt through the membrane.
3)Effect of salt concentration-As salt concentration increases, so does osmotic pressure.
4)Effect of recovery-If percentage recovery is increased , the salts in the residual feed become more concentrated and the natural osmotic pressure will increase until it is as high as the applied feed pressure.
5) Effect of pH-Membrane salt rejection performance depends on pH. Water flux may also be affected.
Please make sure that the product developer/designer of the machine will give the water balance computations, their design criteria and their quality testing before installation.

Just want to share my experiences about membrane troubleshooting. Everytime clients are complaining to me about the issue of low production upon installation of the new membrane, I always tell them that we have to test the membrane to confirm the issue. If clients are saying that it is a factory defect, upon testing the membrane, I will rule out that it is not factory defect but Customer’s Defect or Technician’s Defect.
What do I mean by this? First of all you have to understand that Reverse Osmosis is a technical concept and for you to fully understand the system, you have to know the Principle of Reverse Osmosis.
If someone will be saying that they know how to install the membrane but does not understand the concept, then that is where the problem always lies.
First every membrane has its own test protocol according to its applied pressure, production, NACL and recovery rate. When we talk of NACL, we are talking of the osmotic pressure, if someone will say they don’t know this but have installed so many membranes, do you think that guy is credible and competent enough to discuss issues about membrane trouble shooting.
Second, membrane production depends on feed pressure and flowrate. If you ask them what is the feed flowrate and they do not know the capacity of the pump head or the performance curve of the vertical motor that they are using? Patay na!!!!!!
How about the capacity of the feed pump? Is it capable enough to sustain the requirement of the RO module? What is the assumptive delivery volume of the said pump once it reaches the pump head?
These are just some of the things to consider when designing a system or doing the membrane troubleshooting.
The membrane is the most sensitive part of the basic systems that we are selling (WRS Set-up) any deviation from the technical design would affect its performance.
The main issue is what part of the system is contributory to the failure of the membrane.
That is where troubleshooting comes in. Sabi ko nga uli,”You Hit the Nail by the Head”
Others are doing the “Guessing Game” or others will be doing it their own way, sabi nga may sariling concept, habang gumagawa nga sila kumakanta pa ng “MY WAY ni Paul Anka”
I am telling you all of these not to offend others doing their livelihood but to inform them the need to enrich their knowledge so that they can became useful and not damaging to the Water Industry.
For me, I never stop reading water treatment articles and I even ask my friends if I have doubts on certain issues. I am not saying na sobrang galing ko, in fact marami pa ko d alam and how I wish na mas marami akong ma meet na tao na magagaling sa Water Treatment para lalo pa ko matuto.
I just try to see that what I am doing is within the bounds of water filtration and purification concept.
